PUBLISHING
Alongside software development, internet services and innovative projects, the written word has also found its place within PoVelty.
Since 2011, PoVelty has been active as a publisher of its own publications. Not with the ambition of becoming a large publishing house, but out of a desire to give ideas, stories and experiences a place of their own.
Het Groene Varen
In 2011, the idea for Het Groene Varen was born, a magazine about sustainable boating, new technologies, nature and life on and around the water.
The first issue appeared in March 2012, featuring articles on electric boating, innovative developments and traditional craftsmanship, among other subjects.
The magazine's production also reflected the principles behind it: it was printed on sustainably recycled paper.
A special feature was the comic strip Groentje, conceived and drawn by my children and subsequently digitised for the printed edition.
Although only one issue was published, Het Groene Varen remains a tangible reminder of an idea brought to life. I still own the original magazine format.

Het Animal House
Alongside publishing a magazine, PoVelty has also ventured into book publishing.
These publications include the Het Animal House book series, written by Rijk Ponte.
While Het Groene Varen grew out of an interest in sustainability and technology, the books stem from another passion: storytelling.
What connects the two is the freedom to develop an original idea and turn it into a publication without unnecessary restrictions.
Author and publisher
Each has its own distinct role in these activities.
Rijk Ponte writes the books. PoVelty publishes them.
On Rijk Ponte's website, you can discover more about the author, his books and the stories behind them.
